Metz launches a new Android TV range in India

A new trend that has emerged of late is the sale of an online-focused TV segment which is growing by each passing day. There are various brands that have made their presence felt in this space.

The popular brands in this space are Vu, TCL, and Xiaomi, however, smaller brands are emerging as players in this segment as well.

One of the most recent product launches in this segment is the German brand Metz that has launched its latest TV range on Amazon in India. Amazon has the new Metz Android TV range on sale for a price starting from Rs. 12,999/- onwards.

The Metz Android TV comes in a range of four TVs – M32E6 with HD resolution (Rs. 12,999/-), M40E6 that comes in a full-HD resolution (Rs. 20,999/-), M50G2 that has a 4K resolution (Rs. 36,999/-) and M55G2 with 4K resolution (Rs. 42,999/-).

All of them are smart TVs and they run on Android TV 8.0. They support various apps including YouTube, Google Play Movies, Hotstar, and Netflix. One of the features of this smart television is a built-in Chromecast functionality that enables screencasting from compatible devices.

Users can conveniently install a variety of apps and services due to the access to Google Play Store on this television through the Android television interface.

It additionally allows users to access a large library of freely available online content with direct access to YouTube.

Metz Android TV also comes with Google Assistant access through the voice remote, DTS-tuned sound, a quad-core processor, and HDR support which is available on the 4K variants. The TV also features HDMI, USB, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Metz was originally established in Germany in the year 1938 and its first TV business was then acquired by Skyworth which is a Chinese electronics manufacturer in 2015.

These set of TCs have dived straight into already set competition in this segment form brands like Xiaomi, who also has an entry-level television which is a 32 inch known as Mi TV 4C Pro that is available both online and offline for Rs. 12,999/-.
