Samsung Galaxy M10 and M20 get Android Pie update with One UI

In terms of what was predicted, Samsung has started to roll out the Android Pie update for its smartphones – the Galaxy M10 and M20 in India. This has been done immediately after a day of rolling it out for the Galaxy M30.

Samsung had announced that this would be rolled out only post June 3 for the M-Series, but in a surprise move for all customers it did so much earlier. This update puts both the Galaxy M10 and M20 on One UI and the latest May security patch.

SamMobile was the first to recognize the roll-out of the updates for the Galaxy M10 and M20. The update sizes for both are different. The Galaxy M10 Pie update size is 926 MB while the Galaxy M20 update file is bigger at 1883 MB.

The change-log is almost the same across both devices, but the Galaxy M10 does not get the Scene Optimizer feature

Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 have a very similar change-log. The best part of the change is the brand new interface which is exclusively produced for one hand users. It is a great treat for them all.

The basic layout in Samsung apps has undergone a change, the interactive buttons are now on the lower half of the screen while the top half is blank or used for content. This helps in easy reach of the interactive buttons.

You will also get Night mode with the One UI. Once you turn it on the background will turn black thus reducing the strain on the eyes and also helps to reduce battery drain out.

The keyboard will now be equipped with new Unicode 11.0 emojis, new told for editing in the gallery, a new drawer menu in Contacts.

Additionally you will get May, 2019 Android security patch and several other improvements. The Galaxy M20 and M30 will be the only ones to have received Scene Optimizer.

The Galaxy M40 is about to be launched in India. We believe that most likely the Galaxy M40 will be up for sale with Android Pie with One UI out of the box.

The Galaxy M10 and Galaxy A10 are a very affordable set of phones to be on Android Pie and are priced at Rs 7,990/-. The Galaxy M20 starts at a price of Rs 9,990/- in India
