Honor is recruiting beta testers in India for the EMUI 9 update

Honor 7X, which is a budget smartphone that was launched in 2017 with Android 7.0 Nougat, should soon receive the second major update after an Android Oreo update in 2018.

It was one of the 11 Huawei and Honor devices to have received the EMUI 9.1 beta based on Android 9 Pie last month in China.

The Honor 8X which is its successor is already getting a stable Android 9 Pie update in China so the 7X update should follow shortly. In the meantime, Honor has also started looking for experienced beta testers for the Honor 7X in India.

Once you are done signing up using your Huawei ID, simply tap on “Join project” to enroll your smartphone for the beta testing. Make sure that your Android-powered smartphone sports the build no. and take a backup of your files before starting to beta test.

As per HiHonor Club, the EMUI 9.1 update based on Android 9 Pie but it gets quite an improved interface, sounds and wallpapers that are inspired by nature, and some AR features. In addition, Huawei has already announced its plans for the Android Q update, the Honor 7X will most probably not get it.
