Nokia has begun the roll-out of a new Android software update for the Nokia 8, which brings the April Android security patch. This over-the-air (OTA) update is the latest one and is based on Android Pie, but aside from the upgraded Android security patch, it does not include any new notable features.
This update carries the build number V5.150 which is currently being rolled out in India and Australia only via the stable channel.
The change-log of the Android Pie update security patch for the Nokia 8 claims to bring improved user interface enhancements and system stability. The latest update for the Nokia 8 weighs around 255. 4MB in total.
This roll-out of the update for smartphone was spotted by a NokiaPowerUser as he shared it online by posting screenshots of getting the OTA update on his Nokia 8.

There is no word from Nokia as to when this update will be rolled out for regions other than Australia and India.
One of the companies that have been relatively quick at seeding the latest updates is HMD Global and it is certainly good to see an Android smartphone launched in 2017 receiving the latest Android security patch.
You can check for the new update on the Nokia 8 by going to Settings > About phone > System updates.
This smartphone features a 5.3-inch QHD IPS display screen that is securely protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC that is coupled with 4GB of RAM.
Apart from sporting a 13MP RGB camera which is assisted by a 13MP monochrome sensor on the back, it also has a 13MP front snapper. The Nokia 8 has 64GB of internal storage and a powerful 3,090mAh battery.
