The Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone is the first Android One smartphone by the Chinese tech giant. News is circulating fast that the price of this remarkable phone has been slashed by Rs. 1000/-. This makes the price of the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone Rs. 13,999/- of now.
Mr. Manu Kumar Jain of Xiaomi India (the Managing Director) released the news through his personal twitter:
“Great news Mi Fans: announcing a permanent price drop of Rs. 1000 on the Mi A1!”
Buyers from Mi.com and Flipkart will be able to purchase the Xiaomi Mi A1 at these newly applicable rates. This price drop is all set to give a tough time to competing handsets such as the Moto G5S Plus, the Honor 7X as well as the Nokia 6. The Android One Xiaomi Mi A1 could be especially threatening to the status of the Huawei Honor 7X.
Axis Bank Buzz card users are in for a treat. If they buy the phone using this card from Flipkart, they get an additional 5% off on the Rs. 13,999/- price. A no-cost Emi option is also available which allows the phone to be bought on easy installments of Rs. 1,556/- a month. An additional buy back guarantee is there for the phone, amounting to Rs. 99/- allowing extra value to exchange the smartphone for a new purchase from Flipkart at a later time.
Coming on to the features of the Xiaomi Mi A1, it sports a 5.5-inch FHD display (with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels). Added corning Gorilla Glass protection is also provided. The phone also has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor aided by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This is expandable by 128GB via micro SD card. The phone has a dual-SIM configuration of a Hybrid nature (to allow for the SD card).
A dual camera setup exists on the back with two 12MP cameras. One of them has a wide angle with an f/2.2 aperture lens with 1.25-micron pixel size. The other one has an f/2.6 aperture telephoto lens with a 1 micron-pixel size. It has 2X optical zoom and a portrait mode feature. In the front there is a 5 MP camera offering a real-time beautification mode. The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes out of the box with Android 7.1.2 Nougat and an update on the security patch with the latest November security patch being installed.
Xiaomi is reportedly seeking beta testers to test out the new Android Oreo 8.0 for the Mi A1. It has a 3.55 mm headphone jack with a 3080 mAh battery and USB Type-C and 4G VoLTE.
