Xiaomi has officially launched their new and refreshing Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite smartphones.
This selfie-focused series will be sold at an affordable price of Rs.8,999/- for the Redmi Y1 with 3GB RAM and 32 GB Internal Storage, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage will cost Rs.10,999/-.
The Redmi Y1 Lite will be priced at Rs.6,999/-, even though the smartphone has a regular 5MP front camera. Both the smartphones will be directly available on Amazon India and Mi.com starting 8th November 2017.
Furthermore, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has also announced MIUI 9 for it’s Android powered smartphones in India.
Manu Kumaar Jain (Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India) is super excited about the MIUI 9. He officially states through his LinkedIn post couple of hours ago;
In detail, the Redmi Y1 has a Led Flash on the front and 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, a 5.5-inch HD display screen, Corning Gorilla Glass, a fingerprint sensor on the rear and 13MP rear camera with PDAF. In terms of functionality, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM and 32/64GB Internal Storage which is expandable.
The company has added a dedicated microSD card slot for the Dual-SIM Android smartphone. The Redmi Y1 has an aluminium alloy mid frame that is great for heat management. MIUI 9 will be pushed out for the smartphone from mid-November.
Over to the Redmi Y1 Lite, it has a 5.5-inch HD display screen, but is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor and decked with 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. The smartphone has a 3080 mAh battery with a 13 MP rear camera and a dedicated SIM slot. Both the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite are expandable upto 128GB storage via the microSD slot.
The key features of MIUI 9 are notifications which are similar to stock Android. Notifications show up in multiple styles, bundled notifications and instant replies. The very well known split screen is a new feature that will allow users to switch the position of the apps in a single step.
