Airtel, the leading giant in the Indian Telecom industry, has partnered with popular local smartphone brand Karbonn to bring you the Karbonn A1 Indian and the Karbonn A41 Power smartphones as a part of the extension of the ‘MeraPehla Smartphone’ scheme. Both phones are Android and use 4G technology.
The two phones are both extremely affordable. The Karbonn A1 Indian 4G smartphone is priced at an MRP of Rs. 4,390/- while the A41 Power smartphone has an MRP of Rs. 4,290/-
Both these smartphones will have a preinstalled monthly package of Rs. 169/- by Airtel, that comes loaded with mobile data and call benefits in addition to the mobile balance.
In order to purchase the Karbonn A1 Indian 4G smartphone, customers have to put down Rs. 3,299/- as a down payment, while for the Karbonn A41 Power 4G smartphone, the amount of down payment is a bit higher at Rs. 3,349/-. There is a cash incentive totaling Rs. 1,500/-.
The way this cash incentive works is that the users of these two smartphones need to make a total of 36 monthly recharges of the Rs. 169/- package from Airtel. The first 18 months will yield Rs. 500/- worth of cash back while the user will get a Rs. 1,000/- refund at the end of 36 months.
If the Rs. 169/- package doesn’t make sense to the user, they can opt for any other bundle of their choice, Airtel said in a statement. As long as the total amount in the first 18 months comes to a total of Rs. 3,000/- and the next 18 months equals a total of another Rs. 3,000/-, users will get the cash refunds as promised.
As for the specifications of the Karbon A1 India and A 41 Power 4G smartphones, they have similar features except when it comes to the camera, processor and battery power.
Both Phones have a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen and a display size of 800 x 480p. They both have the Android Nougat 7.1 preinstalled. There are even some great apps like Airtel TV, Wynk Music and MyAirtel apps pre-installed. Storage wise, these smartphones have 1GB Ram and an 8GB internal space, which can be expanded to 32 GB via MicroSD card.
The differences in the two handsets is that the Karbonn A1 Indian packs a relatively smaller 1,500mAh battery in comparison to the A41 Power which has a 2,300mAh battery. The processor on the Karbonn A1 Indian has a 1.1GHz quad core processor while the A41 Power has a slightly better 1.3Ghz quad core processor.
As for the camera setups, the Karbonn A1 Indian packs a 3.2-megapixel camera in the back while it has a 2-megapixel camera in the front. Its counterpart, the A41 Power, has a 2-megapixel camera in the back while it sports a 0.3-megapixel camera in the front.
Both 4G smartphones will be available for sale on Amazon next week.
