Known by many, dual rear cameras are not something new in the gadget market across the globe. Even though there is a sudden surge in popularity, there have been many devices with dual cameras earlier, and many have actually been from HTC.
The One M8 had a “Duo Camera” configuration, which used a secondary sensor for depth data to create a Bokeh Effect.
Leading with another example, the Evo 3D was also decked with dual cameras for a 3D effect that could be viewed on it’s glasses-free 3D display screen. Remember ?
Recently, the Taiwanese consumer electronics company has been making mobile devices with a single camera on the rear. They have said that there is going to be something new in 2018. It looks like HTC is trying to catch up by adjusting to the market’s needs.
The company has also announced that it will only release five to six devices in 2018, that will potentially include budget devices around the $300 price range.
Apart from the price and camera vague prediction, we can also state that the hardware configuration of the devices is going to be like a Christmas gift for fans in the first quarter of 2018.
We cannot wait to see what the company has in store for the world next year bearing in mind that HTC has a legacy in smartphone cameras.
