As you all may know that Super Mario Run hit the iPhone, iPad, and even the iPod Touch last year. Android releases are mostly late when it comes to important games such as these which we remember playing years ago and so after a long pre-registration period, the famous company Nintendo has finally revealed when you can play it on devices running Android.
As per the tweet from Nintendo of America, Super Mario Run for Android will be available from 23rd March 2017. In the version 2.0.0 update you will be able to experience new features such as the ability to unlock World 1-4 in the free version of the game by simply completing a challenge, and being able to play as other characters.
The Super Mario Run page on the Google Play Store has been up since December last year and since the wait it almost over you can pre-register here.
You might be wondering why it has not released on Android before iOS so it is because of some privacy issues that were being sorted out by the company.
In an interview with Mashable, Shigeru Miyamoto (Creator of Mario) said;
For us, we view our software as being a very important asset to our company. For consumers who are purchasing the game, we want to make sure that we are able to offer it to them in a way that the software is completely secure, and that they are able to play it in a stable environment. The reason we decided to go with iPhone and other iOS devices first is because of the security element and piracy.
