Facebook messenger started out as a support feature of Facebook chat and the social networking site. However, with each new update it slowly yet steadily became its own independent beast. The facebook messenger keeps on adding some really cool features to the Facebook messenger but the sad part is that they often get overlooked most of the time. I think that Facebook messenger is a great feature for your Androids and that is I decided to dedicate this write up to all the latest news update on the Facebook Messenger. Now, Facebook is currently testing two new features that we will talk about later, for now I give you everything going on with Facebook messenger recently.

Facebook recently announced that Facebook messenger will now allow users to carry out group calls. The users can initiate these group conversations by simply pressing on the phone icon to initiate a group call. This feature as of now is equipped to handle an impressive number of up to 50 people. Such large number shows a clear line of sight as this feature being used in workplaces. Apart from making grup calls, there is no other announcement or word whether Facebook is planning on expanding this feature to include video service as well. However, we all know that the video service feature is in the works for WhatsApp, so we can assume that it arrive to Facebook sooner or later.

According to this news update, Facebook is planning to roll out some really cool business-friendly updates to Facebook Messenger in the coming few weeks. Fcaebook recently announced its plan to provide a cohesive way for businesses and their clients to communicate using the Facebook Messenger app.

The new Material Design that the Facebook Messenger received was first introduced with Android Lollipop. The announcement of was made by David Marcus through a Tweet – he is the head of Facebook Messenger.
Now users of Facebook messenger should not really worry about their user experience being affected as this is a purely cosmetic update. The update gives the blue bars on the top of the screen a cleaner look. Moreover, the space in the app means that it now has a more open and roomier feel to it.

Testing of some very interesting and visible new additions to Facebook Messenger begins and it is a first in some time.
The first new feature of the Facebook Messenger is almost at the heels of the photo-sharing sister, Instagram. This type of multiple account support means that your close ones can check their Facebook messages through your phone. This feature also meant that people using Facebook for professional purposes will now be able to swap between their professional and personal accounts with a lot of ease.
Apart from the above mentioned changes – SMS integration is another noticeable feature. This new feature was first introduced to the Messenger app in 2012, but it was later removed as the user take-up was real slow. It is now back but it is still in a testing phase, at least.
According to rumours Facebook has been testing all these features in a number of devices. However, there is still no word on when these features will see a full roll out.
Now well all know that Facebook is trying these features on various devices so you can check out whether you are one of the fortunate ones by going to Settings>Accounts and checking whether there is a plus button at the top right of the screen. If yes, then this should allow you to add extra accounts. And if you are even luckier, and have been gifted with SMS support, then you should also have an SMS option in the Settings menu.

This new update revealed that Messenger sign up will not require you to sign in to your Facebook account. Anyone who does not have a Facebook account will just tap on the ‘Not on Facebook’? Option on the welcome screen and then you will just need to add your name and phone number and add a picture – you are done. This new update means that the Messenger world is now available to people who do not use Facebook. This new addition seems a sensible step in the right direction at this point in time.
It is true that the true benefits of Facebook Messenger with a Facebook account are evident. However, as the app allows instant access to all your Facebook friends and messages and also allows cross-device access – it will work like a Whatsapp account if you only have a Messenger account.
Not on Facebook? No problem – you can use Facebook Messenger without an account
