‘While you were away’ feature by Twitter on Android

Twitter SketchTwitter rolled out the “While you were away” feature on iOS last month. The company also stated that the update will be released for Android soon. Keeping the promise, Twitter has effective immediately rolled out the update on the Google Play Store for all Android powered devices.

If you have not checked in Twitter for a while, this feature gives you as a user a recap of some of the top Tweets that you might have missed while you were away. Keeping it simple, Twitter has made it just simple. 

As per a New York Times report, you cannot turn off feature this feature. If you keep on hitting the (X) icon at the right-hand side of the notification, the it will show recaps less often. If you want to experience this feature on your Android device then head over to the Play Store and update Twitter for Android. Facebook is also planning on adding this feature soon, so that you do not miss any new posts while you are away. The company would roll it out on both iOS and Android at the same time.
