This is truly breaking news as OnePlus One smartphone will not continue with CyanogenMod in India for devices. OnePlus has just announced a deal between Cyanogen Inc and Micromax. Micromax has been officially granted exclusive rights to the Cyanogen system in India. OnePlus expressed sadness and disappointment over Cyanogen’s deal with the Indian manufacturer and stated that they will be working on an exclusive system for the One which will be purely based on Lollipop. Also, the company has stated that the new system for the One will be available by February 2015.
We just heard that the OnePlus One will still launch in India according to schedule. The phone will be launched with CyanogenMod as of now. OnePlus explained that the exclusive partnership with Micromax means that CM will not support the One in India. Frankly, this means that anyone who purchases the OnePlus One in India next month (2nd December 2014) will do so without official software support from CyanogenMod.
A press release has been released by Micromax that states the partnership with Cyanogen a while ago. Micromax did not mention anything about the OnePlus One either. The Press Release can be read here. The OnePlus One would be launching in India on 2nd December 2014 which means that it is only 4 days away.
