People are going crazy seeing how much of contributions are made towards the Jolla tablet and at the same time loving what the company is doing. Jolla has already been promised 184% of their funding goal. Earlier today, the Jolla Tablet was announced and $921,449 is already raised even though the target was $380,000. 21 days are left for the campaign to end.
Just so that you know that this is the first time a tablet has been crowdsourced and and crowdfunded using Indiegogo. Apart from just collecting money from the backers, Jolla has also promised to listen to feature suggestions and feedbacks. The company would probably use some of the ideas and suggestions contributed by many.
On the specifications angle, the Jolla Tablet will have a 7.85 inch 2,048×1,536 IPS display touchscreen, a 1.8 GHz Quad-Core CPU, 64-bit Intel chipset that is backed by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable. On to the camera deck, the tablet will feature a 5MP primary camera, a 2MP secondary camera and a 4,300 mAh battery. The Jolla tablet will be booting Sailfish OS 2.0 which completely supports Android apps. The initial pricing for this beauty with brains starts at $189 but as of now a pledge can be made to purchase it for $204. The Jolla Tablet could be expected some time in May 2015.
