It is an exact time of one year where Hugo Barra left Google and joined Xiaomi as Vice President for International Markets. Recently, Jai Mani has also joined Xiaomi and is now in Bangalore getting ready to start his official journey with the company. Hugo worked really hard to launch many new products and has really made a mark selling the Mi3 and the Redmi 1S in parts in India. We know the reason they have part-by-part sale and that is because they cannot meet the production demand but not they are, says Barra.
We thank Economic Times for meeting Barra and speaking to him about his plans to expand the sales as well as the production. You can have a look at the interview which comprises of some questions here and post your thoughts in the form of comments below. Apart from the interview we would like to let you know that we purchased a total of 3 Redmi 1S and 2 Mi3. As of now we are waiting for the Mi4 and the Redmi Note to hit Flipkart or even see the units being sold locally in markets around India. Barra is trying to make things possible and we know he will. There was an update today for the Redmi 1S that solves the heating issue and RAM fixes here and there.
