The new evidence that has emerged from Taiwan states that HTC is indeed the manufacturer of the next Nexus tablet (Nexus 9). The Taiwanese report has claimed that President of North Asia of HTC, Mr.Jack Tong states that the Nexus 9 will mark “HTC’s commitment” to the tablet market after a long time of three years.
HTC has maintained a good distance from the tablet segment ever since it got its fingers burned with the first Android tablet, the Flyer which was launched in 2011.
According to GForGames, Tong reportedly suggested that the next Nexus tablet featuring an 8.9-inch display would be officially released in Taiwan by end of 2014 or even Q4. Recent reports indicate that Google might release the next Nexus smartphone and tablet in mid-October i.e 15th October or 16th October.
The alleged HTC-made Nexus tablet was recently reported to have passed through the US FCC and was thereby shown in a purported image. According to the purported image, specifications can be seen where the Nexus 9 would be sporting a 2.3GHz Tegra K1 processor along with 3GB of RAM, a 9-inch (or an 8.9-inch) full-HD display screen, 16GB internal storage, 100GB of Google Drive storage for a short period of 2 years, expandable storage support of 128GB and Android L which is rumored to be named Android Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP) or even Lollipop.
