Apple has disappointed so many users across the globe with the iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 8. Some are even flabbergasted with the iWatch so they are turning their heads and eagerly waiting to see that Google has in store for Android users. The next big thing that is going to happen soon is Android L release. Since the OS cannot be released independently, also minds are thinking on which smartphone/tablet it will be on first. There is no official statement made by Google about the release date of the software but we presume that it would be sometime after 24 October 2014 or even in November along with HTC Nexus 9 tablet.
An interesting new tidbit from my Nexus 9 source, a UK ‘carrier launch’ slated for 24th October…

Paul O’Brien has tweeted that the HTC Nexus 9 will be released on 24 October 2014. He also hints that Android L could be launched earlier as it could be seen on the upcoming tablet and the Nexus 6 which will be also known as the Nexus X. Also known from earlier Paul O’Brien’s tweets is that the HTC Nexus 9 will be launched on 16th October 2014.
There are also reports that the Nexus 6 which is could be announced on 31 October 2014 will come with the new device. We are now in two minds as we earlier confirmed that the final version of Android L will not be officially available until 1 November 2014. Android Authority has also confirmed about the same.
Apart from the Nexus 6 and the HTC Nexus 9 tablet, HTC has confirmed that the Android L update will be made available for HTC One and HTC One (M8) users within 90 days of receiving final software from the search giant. Motorola has seconded and said that they will also offer the update for the Moto G. There was no statement that the update will be available for the Moto X (2nd Gen) but there are good chances that it will be.
