With the introduction of the Xiaomi Mi3 and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S in the Indian market, all device manufacturers are trying to offer either the best at the least rate or the most at the least rate. The competition is getting tough, so is the confusion is getting more. Datawind has an aim to double their sales volumes by launching a Rs.2,000/- smartphone before Diwali that will come bundled with free Internet for life. How cool is that ??
Datawind has stated that the device will be based on Android (version unknown) and sport a 3.5-inch display screen. Currently, the company has 3 smartphones and 5 tablets under their portfolio having sales approximately rounding up to 40,000-50,000 devices on a monthly basis.
We are looking forward to launch the Rs.2,000 Android powered smartphone and few other devices before Diwali. The intention is to multiply sales by the end of this calender year (2014). The company has aggressive plans in terms of manufacturing in the country.
The introduction of this Android device by Datawind will be something different as various other smartphone manufacturers are offering more features in handsets, free accessories, price slashes, etc. It will be a good time to see how things change….
