The Sony Xperia Z1 which is considered as a high-end device globally is now going to get tweaked with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update which is available. Up till now, the Xperia Z1 was running on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is already available for T-Mobile and on other carriers in Canada likes Telus, Rogers and Bell. Various other carriers have not released the updates to subscribers but the work is streamlined and will be released soon.
The whole line of Z1’s will be getting the update also which include the Xperia Compact and the Xperia Ultra. HTC has also experienced delays in releasing the updates just like Sony. HTC has recently updated the Gallery App for the HTC One M8. These things usually happen where updates get delayed but it is always good as we get hinted on some of the upcoming features.
Telstra has announced the release of the Android 4.4.3 KitKat and 4.4.4 KitKat with the Xperia Z1, HTC and even Motorola. It is expected to release in September 2014 as the software is still undergoing testing. Apart from all the hue and cry about other Sony devices receiving Android updates, Sony is just doing a fantastic job by releasing good updates with less issues.
