Chikita has an ad network that experiences a lot of impressions which makes it fairly reliable to gauge the types of devices that permeate the North American market for the year 2014.
Chikita did a survey of millions of ad impressions between the end of May 2014 and beginning of June 2014 to determine which Android devices were running Android 4.4 KitKat in North America and they have seen that the rate is comparatively higher than Google’s 13.6% tally that is considered as a worldwide number.
The Google Nexus devices have a 96% upgrade rate while the Motorola devices have a 59%. HTC is slightly ahead of Samsung at 41% while LG is at 24%. We hope that all the mobile and tablet manufacturing companies make 2014 the year of fruitful dreams by even upgrading the lower end devices. We believe that users have to be happy at the end of the day.
Chitika has made a study and found that 37% of Android devices are running KitKat which is an increase of 27% since April 2014. This jump is directly related to the roll-out of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Samsung Galaxy S4 which alone comprises 25% of the entire KitKat device ecosystem in North America which is duly followed by the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S5 is at 12%. The most popular Android powered devices which are of another brand with 4% are the HTC One, Nexus 5 and the LG G2.
