According to recent research report by Gartner, the consumers in developing countries like Brazil and China will continue to be the main driving factor behind the growth in sales of mobile computing devices in 2014. By mobile computing devices, we mean smartphones and tablets.
In 2014, the worldwide total of the number of mobile computing devices are estimated to grow up to 2.5 billion units which is a rise of 7.6%. It also said that consumers from developing countries like Indonesia and India are expected to buy more of these products, than those from Western Europe and United States. This will truly boost the Android OS to a great extent in terms of sales.
Local low-cost manufacturers now have a chance to expand their sales. Huawei, ZTE, Micromax and Karbonn have expanded their business by making use of this opportunity. Have a look at both the tables.
