CM 11 M1: Android 4.4 KitKat ROM milestone already on Nexus devices

CyanogenMod 11

Google has recently released an Android 4.4 KitKat firmware to improve camera and audio performance on the Nexus 5 and other Nexus devices, the CyanogenMod team have hit their first milestone release with CM 11 M1. Sticking to the fact that the milestone build has appeared before any officially released nightlies for CM 11 is a good change in tact for the team, but is greater news for Nexus owners waiting to get the latest CyanogenMod ROM on their device.

Just a couple of days after the CM team shifted their full focus from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Android 4.4 KitKat, we would be spotting nightly builds made available for testing and trying out. But this time around the CyanogenMod team decided to release an early milestone build for Nexus devices due to their inherent stability on Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Basically, this provides a good opportunity for a clean version to be tested publicly on numerous clean devices which will help isolate any CyanogenMod-introduced bugs and make good clean way for further supported devices in the near future.

In case you are not the owner of a Nexus device, you can still get the best of the CM 11 train as nightly builds are also being made available for other supported devices. The CyanogenMod team is open to comments and feed-backs as the as your valuable contribution through words and examples will push the development along at a much faster pace for everyone. In case you want to view the full list of supported devices getting nightly builds, you could head over to the CyanogenMod’s Download Page.
