Reportedly, Intel is thinking beyond Microsoft when it comes to a full-fledged ‘client’ operating system and the best bet for it in today’s current situation and market is Google’s popularly and famously known Android.
Kirk Skaugen (General Manager of Intel) said that for the last ten years they have been essentially 100% Microsoft but now with the emerging markets demand for Android is seen.
He has further said that Intel is going to scale Android to 64-bit and allow it to scale from Atom processors to the high-end of the core processor family. The report has also said that Intel has a plan for Android which would take the smartphone operating system to a territory that was once exclusive to Windows.
