Shazam for Android has a new feature that moves the service further into song discovery and the update offers an Explore tab which hooks into the Google Maps API to showcase the most popular songs from across the globe. The data is obviously in-house for those users who have tried to identify music with Shazam but on a wide basis it affords users a broader look at what is popular in real-time.
Basically, the Explore tab complements another new feature called Charts which was introduced in the previous version. Both have been available on the iOS platform for some time, but Android users were recently had a good treat to an app redesign with an update which included tablet support. According to source, the new version of Shazam for Android adds the ability to purchase songs directly within the app, but neither Google Play Store nor Amazon sell to Canadians.Download Shazam for Android
