HTC Corp is developing a smart-watch that uses Google’s Android software and can take pictures according to a person familiar with the matter as said by Bloomberg News. Google’s Android OS is being used by many smartphone manufacturers and tablet markers worldwide and HTC plans to give it a shot into making a smart-watch with a camera.
The market share for HTC devices which mainly focus on smartphones has led HTC to the first quarterly loss and a 54% slump in its share price this year as it loses ground to Samsung which currently the world largest smartphone maker.
Retail sales of Internet-connected wearable devices which include watches and eyeglasses and will reach $19 billion by 2018 compared with $1.4 billion this year 2013 as per Juniper Research Report on 15th October 2013. HTC keeps low and does not comment on any rumors or speculations.
