Despite buying Nokia’s mobile phone arm, Microsoft is trying to push their Windows Phone mobile operating system on devices made by other manufacturers. The company constantly in talks with HTC to provide Windows Phone as an option on phones powered by Android. Basically , will this change the smartphone platform trend or will it increase the sale of handsets is the real question.
Microsoft is offering to say goodbye to the licensing it levies for using its mobile OS in HTC’s Android smartphones as per source. Microsoft wants to keep working with partners other than Nokia which shows that they want to expand and they have expectation to be able to sign accords with some phone makers who previously have focused on Android.
Speaking technically and informatively , the Windows Phone OS has a 3.7% market share while the Android and iOS hold 79% and 13% of the market share. HTC as a company has posted decline in global sales which shows that the company is not in a good situation in business terms so let us wait and get to know more very soon.
