Android Phones 2016 – the ones you need to get excited about
2016 has proved to be a great year for smartphones, what with Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 setting new highs for the premium line of Android handsets. However, let me remind you that the year is still not over and we have halfway to go which means that we also have some really interesting smartphones just round the corner waiting for their launch. Here I have a list of Android phones that are yet to come out and are still making my heart race.
Sony Xperia X
We all know that the Sony Xperia Z series is temporarily on hold so in the mean time we have Xperia X to get excited about. I have already done a sneak peak review of this handset and I am happy to report that it has a lot to offer and to enjoy.
At first glance you can easily mistake it as a part of the Xperia Z series but that is only a momentary confusion. This handset is designed partly on Sony’s OmniBalance principles and has a sleek and slim glass and aluminium body. The handset looks great but the biggest difference between it and the Xperia Z is that it is does not include water resistance. This handset is loaded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. This sadly means that it will deliver midrange gaming performance.
Don’t be sad because Xperia X will give you good battery life and a typical high quality Sony camera.
Tentative release date: Q2 2016

Asus Zenfone 3
We all know that the Asus Zenfone 2 was a great device and was notable for a number of reasons. This phone was loaded with a 4GB RAM with a low price admission (US$299). This was a handset which was cheap yet powerful. Although, the design was boring and the display could have done better but the 64-bit CPU and fast charging made this device a great mid-range offering.
We all thought that Asus has done the most outlandish with Zenfone 2 but we were wrong as the new Zenfone 3 series is here to surprise us with a 6 GB RAM and a 6.8-inch phablet.
According to sources, the device will be available in three variants the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra. All these versions will be loaded with a Full HD display, fingerprint scanner and metal unibody design.
The price tags are of course different for different versions with the deluxe version costing $499 and loaded with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 23 MP Sony camera and the 6 GB RAM I told you about earlier. From what I can see so far, it is going to be a powerful flagship phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6
If we are talking about a device that is sure to grab headlines this year, then Galaxy Note 6 is a guaranteed bet. With the successful launch and receiving of Galaxy S7, all the eyes are now set on the new Note 6 and everyone is hoping that Samsung will once again deliver excellence in the form of the sixth device in its impressive phablet series.
Now, I know that you all are dying to see some images but sadly it is still early for image leaks but I can treat you with plenty of feature rumours. According to speculation, the Note 6 will act as a touchpad for compatible laptops and will have a curved display. Moreover, it is also rumoured that the stylus of this device will also work as a kickstand. It is also suggested that the Note 6 will house an impressive 6GB RAM.
Although nothing is confirmed at the moment, I can still say that the Korean manufacturer has had such a strong 2016 already that Note 6 is surely going to be something special.

Lenovo Moto Z Play and Moto Z Pure
Motorola decided to split the X range in 2015, with the Droid Maxx 2 which was called the Moto X Play outside of the US and the Moto X Pure Edition which was called the Moto X Style. Moto X Play, is a handset with a big battery and a mid range price tag while Moto X Style is a high-end device which was once described as a much better alternative for Nexus 5X while being fractionally more expensive.
Now, the recent leaks suggest that the new devices from Motorola will be named the Moto Z Style and Moto Z Play.
The rumours suggest that the Pure Moto Z version will be the flagship phone with QHD display and Snapdragon 820 processor and the X Play will be a cheaper version with a Full HD display and Snapdragon 625 chipset. Just like last year, the lower cost handset will have the larger battery. The battery capacity of the Z Pure and Z Play are rumoured to be 2,600 mAh and 3,500 mAh respectively.
Tentative release date: June 2016
