India beats U.S in becoming the 2nd largest smartphone market

As we all know that India has been one of the fastest developing and growing smartphone markets in the world, there is news that makes this a concrete situation. There are so many ways in which India reached the position of becoming a strong contender in the scenario with various online e-commerce platform as well as physical retail. There has been huge amount of money spend on marketing in India for smartphones and tablets from 2014 – 2015.  The latest Counterpoint Research confirms that India has secured the 2nd largest smartphone market position beating the United States.

As per the in-depth research, the smartphone shipments in India grew by 23.3% managing to cross the 100 million mark in 2015. 81.1 million smartphones were sold in India previously which means that this is quite a good and huge improvement. We are really shocked to see the numbers and have decided to throw a party at our office this weekend with some Android goodies as well as a contest that is coming up for all our avid followers.

Pavel Naiya (Research Analyst at Counterpoint) says that during the holiday season in the Q5 2015 quarter the smartphone demand grew rapidly with more companies pushing out new devices running the best features and latest technologies.
