HTC Desire EyeThere was a leak about the HTC Desire Eye a few days ago and certain specifications have turned out to be true. Yesterday, HTC launched the Desire Eye in order to cash on the trend of selfie smartphones. The company has really hit the market with the 13MP primary camera device but as of now there is no pricing and availability details mentioned. Apart from the Android 4.4 KitKat powered smartphone, the company has also launched the HTC RE. The HTC Desire Eye would hit shelves and online markets in two color varaints i.e Red and Blue and would be considered rightfully as the most advanced ultimate selfie mobile.

Key Features of the HTC Desire Eye :

  • Android 4.4 KitKat OS
  • 5.2 inch Full-HD LCD Display Screen
  • 1080 pixels Screen Resolution
  • 2.3GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB Internal Storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card)
  • 13MP Primary Camera with Dual LED Flash
  • 13MP Secondary Camera with Dual LED Flash
  • 2G
  • 3G
  • 4G
  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi
  • USB Connectivity
  • GPS
  • A-GPS
  • Micro-USB
  • FM Radio
  • 3.5 mm Audio Jack
  • HTC BoomSound
  • 2400 mAh Li-Po Battery

The HTC RE is waterproof as well as the Desire Eye which also features an IPX7 rating that is designed to resist immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Both the primary and secondary cameras (13MP with Dual LED Flash) can shoot 1080p@30fps videos while the rear features a f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens and the front camera features a f/2.2 aperture with a 20mm lens. The two camera centric Android apps called Eye Experience and HTC Zoe (updated) has a new video editing tool which debuts on the Desire Eye. The video-editing app will roll out to other Android and iOS devices soon in this year itself.

Split Capture, Crop-Me-In among many other camera features are also available on the HTC Desire Eye. Split Capture basically divides the image 50/50 between front and rear cameras and the Crop-Me-In feature crops the user’s image and superimposes it on the image shot by the rear camera which is shockingly fantastic. The Eye Experience will be rolled out to other handsets which include the HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), HTC One Remix, HTC One (E8), HTC One MaxHTC Desire 816, HTC One Mini, HTC Desire 612 and HTC One Mini 2. The list of all features of the updated app is yet to be detailed and revealed.
