Lava and Intex likely to launch Android One devices in 2015
It looks like many manufacturers want to follow footsteps of Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. We have just been informed that Lava and Intex will be the new set of handset makers under the Android One programme by Google. The handsets and design are being worked on so there is a strong chance that the devices will be launched next year.
By getting to know this second news you might really flip out. Just like Micromax, Spice and Karbonn launched multiple Android One device, Intex and Lava are also going to roll out range of devices that would offer different specifications such as larger screens and better camera quality at wider price points.
The Android One devices by Lava and Intex will start shipping after January as they the companies require at least three to four months to work on them. Good news is that Lava and Xolo will be able to tap into their own design houses in a way becoming original design manufacturers due to which they will be able to drive price optimization much deeper through their systems. All manufacturers are trying to drop their prices as low as possible as the Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Xiaomi Mi3 have shaken the smartphone market in India by offering really affordable devices with neat features.
On Monday, Sundar Pichai said that Google has also signed up international smartphone makers such as Acer, Asus, HTC, Lenovo, Panasonic and Alcatel One Touch under the project to connect the next five billion people with the Internet and Internet-enabled devices.
Micromax, Karbonn and Spice have started selling their first Android One phones i.e the Canvas A1, Sparkle V and the Dream Uno via Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart since Monday.
