Android 4.4 KitKat grown up to 8.5 percent according to latest stats
The quick adoption of Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat OS has steadily been increasing in the past few months that takes it from 1.8% in February 2014 to 2.5% in March 2014 and having a huge leap to 5.3% in April 2014. According to this month’s report by Android Developers, the KitKat has has it’s biggest growth.
The Android platform distribution stats have been updated by Google which surveys all Android devices that access the Google Play Store during a seven day period that ends on 1st May 2014. As per the respective survey period, 8.5% of Android devices were running Android 4.4 KitKat. As for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ended up at 60.8% which is a slight drop since the share in April 2014. Android 3.2 Honeycomb is still holding on to the same 0.1% share that it has for a lot on months. As for Android 3.2 Honeycomb, there is a drop from 17.8% in April 2014 to 16.2% in May 2014.
We have seen just two devices lately with Android 4.4 KitKat such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (post-release update) and the HTC One (M8) that came pre-loaded and have not received any updates up till now.
