Sony Wireless Charger

Wireless charging has yet to take off and has to get in full swing, but that does not mean it will not become a common trend in the future. Earlier, Nikkei has reported that Sony will commercialize wireless charging during the second half of 2014 and the wait is approaching as we reach the end of 2013. The report states that Sony has developed technology that drastically reduces the time taken to charge a smartphone or tablet on a wireless basis.

According to the XperiaBlog, the device uses 10-15 watts which supplies twice the electricity of older chargers and at the same time decreasing the charging time by half. Apparently, it is based on specifications under the Qi international standard. Is wireless charging something you would like to see in a Xperia device? Let us know in the comments section below.
