Samsung to reportedly launch first Tizen phone at MWC 2014
The much-anticipated first Tizen smartphone from Samsung might see the light of day at MWC 2014 if the reports seems to be true. IT News has claimed that they received an invitation from Samsung and Intel which also backs the Tizen program officially about an event scheduled in February 2014 (exact date not revealed). The source quotes the invite which reads out “An exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices”.
The report cites Geoff Blaber (Vice President Research at CCS Insight) who firmly suggests that Samsung has to show commercial devices at the Mobile World Congress of 2014.
In addition to the above report, SamMobile has leaked a batch of screenshots of the Tizen UI which is yet to be announced and was revealed by the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service database. The leaked screenshots on the source above reveal a number of pre-loaded apps such as contacts, messenger, calendar, dialler and even signs of the notification toggle bar. If you notice closely, the apps and the entire Tizen UI looks alike the Android and even Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
