Jolla handset costing €399 is not a small price to just fork out but at the same time are you wanting to try out the Sailfish OS on your Android device ? The company will allow Android users to sideload the Sailfish OS on the respective Android device. Do not get all happy yet as the option is not yet available but it being worked on and Mr.Tomi Pienimäki has confirmed on the same.

That is the plan. We are on device business and OS business. It is fairly easy to install the Sailfish OS on various Android devices. There is no such culture in these parts of the world, but there are people that are installing new operating systems on their devices. About half of the smartphone buyers are upgrading their older or cheaper devices with a better version of Android. We just have to get Sailfish to those websites and to make sure that Sailfish OS will run on different kind of Android devices.

The CEO of Jolla also confirmed that there is no intention of trying to bring in cash by selling the OS. Instead the team consisting of former Nokia employees will rely entirely on services, applications and advertising to monetize their efforts. If you are feeling excited and willing to try out the Sailfish OS on your Android, drop a comment below to let us know.
