Amazon unveils Kindle HDX Android tablets

Amazon did a make-over with a new tablet lineup with the launch of the Kindle Fire HDX on Wednesday which is basically a higher specification yet cheaper Kindle Fire HD replacement in the market today.

Amazon decides and will sell 7 inch and 8.9 inch models of the Kindle Fire HDX where both the tablets are supposed to be decked up with Quad-Core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processors, 2GB RAM , Adreno 330 Graphics and 11 hours of battery life. There is support for 4G LTE with the tablets set to launch on Verizon and AT&T in the United States as per source.

Both the tablets have a 8MP Primary Camera and a HD Secondary Camera and will be powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Many Kindle users globally thought that it will be powered by the Android 4.4 KitKat but it is not true.

Jeff Bezos ( CEO of Amazon ) said ;

It has been just 2 years since we as a company introduced the first Kindle Fire and the team is innovating at an unbelievable speed.

Along with its new Kindle Fire HDX tablets, Amazon also introduced a less expensive Kindle Fire HD which features a slimmer and lighter design which is priced at $139/-. As for the Kindle Fire HDX 7 inch and 8.9 inch tablets will cost $229/- and $379/- respectively whereas the 4G handsets are a bit more expensive around $329/- and $479/-.
