The Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system has toppled the older and quite popular Gingerbread. Google released an image on the Android usage on Monday ( 8th July 2013 ) which shows that Jelly Bean now has 37.9% adoption and Gingerbread has 34.1% which is not a bad thing at all as there is still life and users for both operation systems.

In April 2013 , Google began counting data a little bit differently in a sort of way by which devices were counted when they checked into Google’s servers but they are now collecting data when users visit the Google Play Store. They know and feel that they can get raw and active users engaged with their Android devices from the Google Play Store itself.

There is a strong driving force which has led to the quick growth in Jelly Bean and it seems to be Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 as millions of units were sold in the past year. As for Gingerbread it released in 2010 and it is known that this OS is used on low featured and in-expensive smartphones. Standing today is the Jelly Bean which will now just continue to grow with the integration of newer high-powered devices to a great extent.
